“COVID-19 POLICIES AND PROCEDURES”

 

Overview

The purpose of this policy is to provide specific procedures at Twisters Gymnastics. These procedures are subject to the guidance provided by state health departments, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), as well as our personal experts leading us. As the situation with COVID-19 continues to change and the guidance from those agencies can shift with little to no notice, Twisters Gymnastics reserves the right to adjust these procedures, with or without amending these written procedures.

Effective Immediately, Kelle Riley will act as the COVID-19 Supervisor of Twisters Gymnastics and will be responsible for all education, monitoring the health of employees, and enforcing the COVID-19 facility safety plan. Employees who choose not to return to work or to remove themselves from the facility because they do not believe it is safe to work due to the risk of COVID-19 exposure, may have access to certain leave or unemployment benefits. Twisters Gymnastics will post signage visible to all customers on gym policies and health policies to help educate occupants on COVID-19. Twisters Gymnastics will and is doing everything we possibly can to educate the staff, students and families to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and all airborne illnesses.


Employee Protection

  • Any job that can be done from home, will be done from home.

  • All employees MUST stay home if feeling ill, report any symptoms of illness to COVID-19 Supervisor, and require notification of COVID-19 cases in employee household.

  • Employees who are particularly vulnerable to COVID-19 according to the CDC will not return to work until consulting with and receiving clearance from medical personnel and/or receiving their full doses of COVID vaccine.

    • Employees over the age of 65.

    • Employees with serious underlying medical conditions such as chronic lung disease.

    • Employees with moderate to severe asthma.

    • Employees who are immunocompromised.

  • All employees will be screened daily for COVID-19 symptoms. A yes answer to any of the following questions will result in the employee being sent home:

    • Have you been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19?

    • Are you experiencing a cough, shortness of breath or sore throat?

    • Have you had a fever in the last 48 hours?

    • Have you had loss of taste or smell?

    • Have you had vomiting or diarrhea in the last 24 hours?

  • Temperature Screening: All employees are required to be screened prior to entering the gym.

    • A touchless thermometer will be available at the facility.

    • Temperature should not exceed 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit and will be sent should it exceed.

  • Any employee who exhibits COVID-19 symptoms (answers yes to any of the screening questions, or who is running a fever will be asked to leave the premises immediately and seek medical care and/or COVID-19 testing, per the Washington State Health Department and CDC guidelines. o

  • Emerald City Gymnastics Academy will maintain confidentiality of employee health information.

  • Employees will wear face masks at all times.

  • Hand Sanitizer will be placed throughout the gym for frequent sanitizing.

  • Employees are to increase hygiene practices – wash hands more frequently, avoid touching face, practice good respiratory etiquette when coughing or sneezing.

  • Social distancing will be in effect. All employees should remain 6 feet from other individuals at all times.

  • Congregating in the office will be limited to 2 people.

  • Twisters Gymnastics has written plans for potential COVID-19 cases and will be prepared to work with local health department officials as needed. A safety briefing will be conducted at the start of each training session to re-emphasize the protective measures for everyone to include maintaining social distancing, sanitation protocols, and pre-session screening. All issues regarding worker safety and health are subject to enforcement action under L&I’s Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH).

  • Employee Workplace safety and health complaints may be submitted to L&I DOSH Safety Call Center at 1-800-423-7233 or vis email to adag235@lni.wa.gov


Business

  • The maximum number of people in the building will not exceed 145 at any given time. Groups will be conducted with 5 athletes/students or less.

  • Twisters Gymnastics staff will conduct regular disinfecting of high-touch surfaces, equipment and common areas of the facility using disinfectant cleaning supplies according to CDC guidelines.

    • A cleaning schedule and assignments will be posted at the beginning of each week.

    • Employees will be provided personal protective equipment such as gloves and face mask to use while assisting with the disinfecting of the gym.

  • All families will be required to sign a new waiver which includes COVID-19 measures.

  • Lockers for the team will not be immediately available. All competitive gymnasts will be required to bring a personal backpack with all personal equipment.

    • Chalk and individual containers will be supplied by athletes.

    • Athletes that use water (spray bottle) on bars, must bring their own spray bottle.

    • Team athletes must have their own hand sanitizer.

    • Nothing will be shared, including hairbrushes, tape, bag balm, etc.

  • Cubbies will be available for the Recreation and Preschool students and will be wiped down between all classes. Disinfectant wipes will be available for families to use as well.

  • Twisters Gymnastics requires that anyone inside the building wear face masks at all times.

  • Some equipment will be restricted to maintain at least 6 feet of distance between gymnasts.

  • All gymnasts will be required to bring their own water bottle.

  • Spotting will be limited to safety purposes only.

  • Gloves will be worn when there is any contact with an athlete/student (spotting or taping).

  • There will be no partner activities during classes and/or workouts.

  • All props will be sanitized after each use.

  • Athletes and coaches will limit physical contact with another: e.g., hugs, high fives, etc.

  • Athletes, coaches and families will not be allowed to enter the facility if they or a household member has had onset of illness with symptoms compatible with suspected or lab-confirmed COVID-19 in the prior 14 days.

  • Twisters Gymnastics has a written plan and will work with local health authorities if a member has developed a positive COVID-19 diagnosis.

    • Twisters Gymnastics will maintain confidentiality of the COVID-19 infected person.


COVID Positive

In order to protect the health and safety of Twisters Gymnastics employees and their families, as well as participants and their families, we have implemented procedures in the event that an employee, a member of the employee’s household, or gym participant tests positive for COVID-19, as well as certain other procedures regarding COVID-19.

EMPLOYEES

Should an employee test positive for COVID-19, they must immediately contact Kelle Riley and must not enter the facility. Infected employees should refrain from any physical contact with anyone affiliated with Twisters Gymnastics until they have been medically cleared. Once a case is confirmed, the following questions will be asked of the employee:

  1. What date did your symptoms begin?

  2. Did you attend any meetings/activities 14 days prior to symptoms beginning up through your last day at work? If so, who attended those meetings/activities?

  3. To the best of your recollection, what employees and participants have you been in close contact (within 6 feet) with during the 14 days prior to your symptoms starting? The employee will be asked to provide specific names.

  4. To the best of your recollection, what areas of the facility did you access within the 14-day window before your symptoms appeared?

  5. Do you use equipment that is also used by others? (gym equipment, computers, etc.)

During the conversation, Management will also inform the employee that per current CDC guidelines, they must stay home from work until the employee has completed the required quarantine. Twisters Gymnastics will notify potentially exposed employees and participants. Out of respect of our staff, Twisters Gymnastics will advise all non-effected employees first. Management will reassure the infected employee that every effort will be made to protect their identity. They will not be identified by name as part of the notification process. The message to the potentially exposed employees and participants will be that they may have come into contact with someone at work who has tested positive for COVID-19 and as a precaution, we request they quarantine at home for 14 days. Twisters Gymnastics will immediately close the facility and proceed with all proper disinfection procedures.

EMPLOYEE’S IMMEDIATE HOUSEHOLD

Should someone who lives with a Twisters employee test positive for COVID-19, the employee must immediately contact Kelle Riley and must agree not enter the facility. Employees that may have been exposed to COVID-19 should refrain from any physical contact with anyone affiliated with Emerald City Gymnastics Academy until further notified. In the event that a member of an employee’s household tests positive, we will follow these procedures: ● Inform the employee not to come in to work and to quarantine at home for 14 days. ● Management will have the employee work from home if possible. If not, ownership will provide unemployment information. ● Owner will ask the employee when the member of their household first experienced their symptoms. ● Owner will instruct the employee to contact Emerald City Gymnastics Academy at the end of the 14- day quarantine period. If they have not experienced any symptoms, they will likely be allowed to return to work. ● Other steps may also be taken depending on the guidance provided from the Health Department. GYM PARTICIPANTS If a participant of any Emerald City Gymnastics Academy learns that he/she has tested positive for COVID-19, the participant or, if a child, the participant’s parent, should notify Sandy Flores as soon as possible. Owner will contact the Participant/Parent and obtain detailed information by asking the participant/parent the following questions: 1. What date did the symptoms begin? 2. Did you/the participant attend any activities 14 days prior to symptoms beginning up through your last day at the gym? If so, do you recall other participants/attendees at those activities? 3. To the best of your recollection, what participants and employees have you/the participant been in close contact (within 6 feet) with during the 14 days prior to your symptoms starting? Please provide specific names is possible. 4. To the best of your recollection, what areas of the building did you/the participant access within the 14-day window before symptoms appeared 5. What equipment do you use that is also used by others? During the conversation, ECGA will inform the participant/parent that per current CDC guidelines, they must not participate in any activities at the gym until the participant has received a negative follow-up COVID-19 test. • The participant must contact ownership prior to their return to the gym. • Emerald City Gymnastics Academy will notify potentially exposed participants and employees immediately. • Ownership will reassure the infected participant or his/her parent that every effort will be made to protect their identity. They will not be identified by name as part of the notification process. The message to the potentially exposed individuals will be that they may have come into contact with someone at the gym who has tested positive for COVID-19. Emerald City Gymnastics Academy will contact the State Department of Health. ECGA will recommended for the family to contact the applicable state department of health for guidance on necessary steps based on the agency’s assessment of the situation. Emerald City Gymnastics Academy will notify the potential exposed employees and participants. Emerald City Gymnastics Academy will not identify the infected participant by name. Ownership will inform participants (or their parents) of the following: • A participant who has been physically present in the gym has tested positive for COVID-19, and you may have personally come into contact with this individual. • Emerald City Gymnastics will ask all those that have possibly exposed to COVID-19 to not participate in activities at the gym for a minimum of 14 calendar days. • Participants must contact ownership at the end of the 14-day period before coming back to the gym. o If the participant begins to experience symptoms while they are quarantined, they ae asked to contact us as soon as possible. o Emerald City Gymnastics Academy will encourage the family to reach out to their healthcare provider to see if there are any additional steps they recommend them to take. Ownership will inform the employees of the following: • A participant who has been physically present in the gym has tested positive for COVID-19, and you may have personally come into contact with this individual. • Emerald City Gymnastics will ask all those that have possibly exposed to COVID-19 to self-quarantine for a minimum of 14 calendar days. o Employees will be reminded they may file for unemployment from the State. • Employees must contact Sandy Flores at the end of the 14-day period before coming back to the gym. o Emerald City Gymnastics Academy will encourage the employee to reach out to their healthcare provider to see if there are any additional steps they recommend them to take. o If the employee begins to experience symptoms while they are quarantined, they ae asked to contact Sandy soon as possible. • Emerald City Gymnastics Academy will Immediately close the facility and proceed with all proper disinfection procedures. DISINFECTION PROCEDURES Once it has been established that someone in our facility has tested positive for COVID-19 the following procedures will take place: • Seek and follow guidance provided by state department of health and CDC. • Isolate potentially infected areas until disinfection is completed. • Wait 24 hours before disinfecting to minimize exposure of droplets. • Contact professional cleaning services. • Disinfect affected area per CDC disinfecting guidelines. Emerald City Gymnastics Academy would like to remind you that discrimination or harassment against individuals that are suspected to have tested positive for, or been exposed to, COVID-19, is strictly prohibited. Due to the sensitivity of this matter, we request that you not engage in conversation or speculation about who may have tested positive. Employees who engage in this behavior may be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination.
